CHILDREN’S CLUB
The MoCA Children’s Club educational program was conceived with the purpose of providing active communication in visual arts, as well as general knowledge concerning history and theory of art (both national and global) to preschool and elementary school children. The program examines various modes of working with children, applicable in curricular conception, and develops new modes of working with schools. In contemporary school curriculums, creative expression has, as a natural outlet for creative thinking, an important role within working models in all areas of education. Children’s creative expression, achieved through art, has an integrative role for children’s experience, activating all that a child knows and feels. This mode of working provides a child with an opportunity to examine elements of reality, establish connections between them and define the world which surrounds it, and all that without a fear of making a mistake. The permanent museum display and its current exhibitions, with the thematic scope that provides both integrative and active approach to learning, represent the roadmap for learning based on information processing and problem solving.
